Estimate only, from the published Ontario Workforce Priority grid under O. Reg. 422/17, in force 25 June 2026. Ontario scores the real registration, holds it in the pool for up to 12 months, and invites the highest-ranking candidates — a score here is not an invitation, and cut-offs move every draw.

How the 130 points break down

Eleven factors. The job itself carries the most weight — work region (15), wage (15), occupational category (10) and skill level (9). Your history in Ontario is next: Ontario work experience is worth up to 18, and experience in the offered role scores higher than general Ontario experience. Language (15), education (10), Canadian credentials (10), bilingualism (10), tax history (8) and temporary resident status (10) make up the rest.

Common questions

What score do I need for the Ontario Workforce Priority stream?
There is no fixed pass mark. Ontario scores your registration out of 130, holds it in the pool for up to 12 months, and periodically invites the highest-ranking candidates — so the cut-off moves with each draw and by region.
Did Ontario change its PNP streams?
Yes. Ontario closed all eight former OINP streams on 25 June 2026 — including the Employer Job Offer and Express Entry streams — and replaced them with the single Ontario Workforce Priority stream. The expression of interest portal reopened on 4 August 2026.
Does working outside Toronto help?
Substantially. Work region is worth up to 15 points and the City of Toronto scores zero, while Northern Ontario scores the full 15.
Do I need a job offer?
The grid is built around one: wage, occupation skill level, occupational category and work region together account for 49 of the 130 points, and all four describe the job being offered.

Comparing provinces? Score the others too

Each province runs its own grid, so the same profile can rank very differently.

An estimate from the published Ontario Workforce Priority grid under O. Reg. 422/17 (in force 25 June 2026). Ontario scores the real registration and invites the highest-ranking candidates from its pool — this is not an invitation, and cut-offs move every draw. Not legal advice.
